Key Elements in Our Design Process

♦ We use a carefully developed Questionnaire to capture your vision with a new sense of clarity.

♦ Through the questionnaire process, we listen to each individual perspective and cultivate a unified list of key design elements, developing a “Shared Mental Model”.

♦ We then create a Master-Plan that carefully addresses each use of each space.

♦ A complete, exciting and Cohesive Design Plan is developed for the entire project.

♦ Throughout the entire process we passionately practice Cooperative/Collaborative Planning involving all key “players”.

Energized Creativity*

We guide our Clients through a process of discovering what they wish to accomplish with their buildings/spaces. We begin this process by gathering a great deal of information from all parties involved in the project. Through careful guidance and education, creative energies unfold enabling the best design to be developed. We accomplish this by intentionally taking all the information gathered and working that information toward a design that meets the needs expressed by the client. We bring to this process a vast amount of creativity, knowledge and professional design skills. Through this exciting, cooperative discovery process, the professional Design Team of SMD is able to develop a design that best speaks to the needs of the Client. Each and every decision made is a result of the knowledge gained from this process. As it is developed, the Client will be shown the Creative Design and how each component of the design speaks to the desires and creative energies they have discovered and enabled throughout the entire Design Process. Even greater energy is experienced at the conclusion of the project as the Clients realize what they have created together with the Design Team.
